Deconstructing American History

Only taking down statues and symbols that represent the Confederacy creates a false dichotomy between “bad” American history and “good” American history. There is no part of American history that is not built upon capitalism, genocide, enslavement, imperialism, lynchings, rape, pillaging, and land theft. And everyone of its symbols represents that.
