Pollo Campero Leg

Pollo Campero Leg

“¡Está bien yuca, vos!” – My partner’s words to me at the hospital.

Good morning lovely folx! In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been lagging a bit in producing content for Dichos de un bicho. There’s a reason. On June 10th, I experienced my first (and I hope only) cooking-related accident. As I was preparing fried yuca for a gathering, the pan accidentally flipped over and hot oil ran down my right leg. At the emergency room, I was informed that I experienced second-degree burns, the worst one on my foot where all the oil pooled. As bad as this accident was, I am thankful that it wasn’t worse.

As I venture on the road to recovery, I am blessed to have the love and support of my wonderful partner, as well as my parents, without whom, healing would be infinitely harder. I am also very grateful for the friends and community to have also shown their support via visits, prayers, and well-wishing.

So here I sit with my Pollo Campero leg propped up, letting my body repair itself. I’m slowly coming back. In the meantime, I imagined what a sympathy card from Angie would look like, so here ya go! Salvi morbid humor is, after all, the best medicine.

Thank you all for following Dichos de un bicho!

– Víctor
