The Triumph of Evil
A few notes:
1) If you think this comic is hyperbolic, then you’re not really paying attention to the writing on the wall.
2) Been thinking A LOT about Orwell these days and the use of language by demagogic powers to vilify and justify wholesale liquidation of a group of people.
3) The govenrment has ALREADY firebombed a community they deemed as a threat. Look up the firebombing of the MOVE Headquarters, a Black liberation organization, in Philadelphia back in 1985, resulting in 11 deaths (including chlldren) and the destruction of 65 homes.
4) The title comes from a famous quote that reads, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It has been attributed to Edmund Burke, but there is much debate on who actually said this quote.
5) The Triumph of Evil is also a devastating PBS Frontline documentary about the Rwandan Genocide and the hypocritical inaction of the United States to stop the mass killings.
6) For those with keen eyes, yes, this comic is a prequel that one I’ve already released. Many of my story lines are temporally fractured in my head.
7) More to come from this particular story…
